About Us

The Midwest chapter of Labor Assistance Professionals (LAP) is a group of dedicated men and women, located in the Chicago, Illinois area who are members of participating labor unions, or who are mental health professionals that work with labor unions, and who provide employee assistance/member assistance services to the union memberships and their families.

Our mission at LAP is twofold:

First, we are dedicated to obtaining comprehensive alcohol and drug treatment, and all other mental health services for our members, at a reasonable and fair price.

Second, we are advocating for member assistance program development within labor, and for recognition by the field's professional organizations and treatment providers of the key role labor plays.
